     William Herbert, 3rd Marquess of Powis was born circa 1698.1 He was the son of William Herbert, 2nd Marquess of Powis and Mary Preston.1 He died on 8 March 1747/48, unmarried.1,3
     He was educated at Clare College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England.3 He succeeded as the 4th Baronet Herbert [E., 1622] on 22 October 1745.3 He succeeded as the 5th Baron Powis, of Powis, co. Montgomery [E., 1629] on 22 October 1745.3 He succeeded as the 3rd Marquess of Powis [E., 1686] on 22 October 1745.3 He succeeded as the 3rd Viscount Montgomery, of the town of Montgomery [E., 1686] on 22 October 1745.3 He succeeded as the 3rd Earl of Powis, co. Montgomery [E., 1674] on 22 October 1745.3 On his death all of his titles became extinct.3
