Hendrik Merkus Baron de Kock and Louise Frederike Wilhelmina Gertrude Bilfinger, on 20 January 1828 at Batavia, Java, Indonesia.1 He died on 29 December 1881 at age 89 at The Hague, The Netherlands.1
     On 6 March 1843 he was granted the right to use the title Ridder.1 He was Chief of Defence of the Royal Netherlands East Indies Army between 1853 and 1858.1
