     Otto Baron van Wassenaer Heer van Katwijk, 't Zandt en Valkenburg was born on 12 December 1795 at The Hague, The Netherlands.1 He was the son of Willem Frederik Hendrik van Wassenaer Heer van Echteld, Spanbroek, Katwijk, 't Zandt, Valkenburg en Ameide and Johanna Judith van Isselmuden.1 He married Jacqueline Cornelle Barones van Balveren Vrouwe van Weurt en Hoekelum, daughter of Lt.-Col. Gerrit Willem van Balveren Heer van Weurt en Hoekelum and Wilhelmina Carolina van Löben Sels, on 19 May 1819 at Beuningen, The Netherlands.1 He died on 25 February 1858 at age 62 at Arnhem, The Netherlands.1
     He was created Baron van Wassenaer on 21 March 1822.1
