     Harro Baron von Gise was born on 3 June 1920. He is the son of Guntram Baron von Gise and Else Mors. He married, firstly, Josefine Thiel on 22 August 1946. He married, secondly, Elfriede Altenfelder on 15 October 1961.

He married, firstly, Kathe Sprecher before 1944 at Ditfurt, Germany. He and Kathe Sprecher were divorced before December 1944. He married, secondly, Liselotte Hansen on 23 December 1944.
