     He gained the rank of General in the 4th Dragoons.1

     Reverend John Theophilus de Brisay was born on 24 January 1804 at Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland.1 He was the son of General Jasper de Brisay and Charlotte Davie.1 He was baptised on 1 March 1804 at St. Clement, Worcester, Worcestershire, England.1 He married Harriette Frances Wilson on 10 April 1828 at Old Church, St. Pancras, London, England.1 He died on 25 September 1846 at age 42 at Gloucester, Gloucestershire, England.1
