     Mary Madelaine Douglas was the daughter of Lt.-Col. A. A. Douglas.1 She married Nicholas Stapleton, son of Bryan John Stapleton and Mary Helen Alicia Dolman, on 25 October 1887.1 She and Nicholas Stapleton were divorced.1 She died on 21 July 1945.1
     From 25 October 1887, her married name became Stapleton.1
