     He was given the name of Henry Archibald Douglas-Irvine at birth.1 He graduated from Edinburgh University, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland, in 1905 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He fought in the First World War.1 He gained the rank of Rifleman.1 In September 1919 his name was legally changed to Henry Archibald Douglas.1,2 He was Vicar between 1932 and 1937 at Salton, Yorkshire, England.1 He graduated from Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, in 1944 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1 He graduated from Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, in 1947 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1
