     Leonard Hoar was born circa 1630 at Gloucestershire, England.1 He was the son of Charles Hoare and Joanna Hinkesman.1 He married Bridgett Lisle, daughter of John Lisle and Alicia Beaconshaw.1 He died on 28 November 1675.1
     He was educated at Harvard College, Cambridge, Massachusetts, U.S.A.1 He was president of Harvard College between 1672 and 1675.1
