     Captain Alfred Edward Cecil Cart de la Fontaine was the son of Henry Cart de la Fontaine.2 He married Mary Evelyn Palmes, daughter of Reverend George Palmes and Eva Blanche Harrison, in 1913.1 He died on 9 July 1916 at Somme, France, killed in action.1
     He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.)2 He gained the rank of Captain in the East Yorkshire Regiment.2 He fought in the First World War.1
