     Piers Legh was born in 1479.1 He was the son of Reverend Sir Piers Legh and Eleanor Savage.1 He married, firstly, Jane Gerard, daughter of Sir Peter Gerard, in 1503.1 He married, secondly, Margaret Tildesley, daughter of Nicholas Tildesley, in 1513.1 He died on 4 December 1541.1
     He was Royal Warden of Lancaster Forest.1

     Cecily Legh was the daughter of Piers Legh and Jane Gerard.1 She married, firstly, Sir Thomas Butler in 1508.1 She married, secondly, Henry Keighley in 1521.1 She died in 1542.1
     From 1508, her married name became Butler.1 Her marriage to Sir Thomas Butler was annulled in 1520.1 From 1521, her married name became Keighley.1

     He was appointed Knight in 1544.1 He held the office of Sheriff of Lancashire in 1550.1 He held the office of Sheriff of Cheshire in 1554.1
