Commander Ian Dudley Stewart Forbes was born on 10 September 1919. He was the son of Lt.-Col. James Stewart Forbes and Feridah Taylor. He married, firstly, Lady Penelope Anne Rous, daughter of Sir John Anthony Alexander Rous, 4th Earl of Stradbroke and Barbara Grosvenor, on 19 June 1950. He and Lady Penelope Anne Rous were divorced in 1960. He married, secondly, Gunilla Ryman, daughter of Major Victor Ryman, on 19 May 1961. He died in 1992.1
