     Major William Vandeleur Beatty was the son of Captain David Longfield Beatty and Katherine Edith Sadleir.1 He married Hon. Victoria Alexandina Sibell Fitzroy, daughter of Charles Henry Fitzroy, 4th Baron Southampton and Lady Hilda Mary Dundas, on 21 January 1925.1 He and Hon. Victoria Alexandina Sibell Fitzroy were divorced in 1941.1 He died on 23 January 1953.1
     Major William Vandeleur Beatty gained the rank of Major in the service of the 19th Queen's Own Hussars.1
