     Sir John Francis Ainsworth, 3rd Bt. was educated at Eton College, Eton, Berkshire, England.¹ He was educated at Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England.¹ He graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, in 1933 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.).¹ He graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, in 1937 with a Master of Arts (M.A.).¹ He was invested as a Fellow, Royal Historical Society (F.R.Hist.S.).¹ He was an external lecturer in Medieval History between 1966 and 1981 at University College of Cork, Cork, County Cork, Ireland.¹ He succeeded to the title of 3rd Baronet Ainsworth, of Ardanaiseig, co. Argyll [U.K., 1917] on 1 March 1971.¹

     Josephine Bernard is the daughter of Commander Walter Randolph Bernard and Millicent Olive Graves.¹ She married Sir John Francis Ainsworth, 3rd Bt., son of Sir Thomas Ainsworth, 2nd Bt. and Lady Edina Dorothy Hope Conyngham, on 26 August 1938.¹ She and Sir John Francis Ainsworth, 3rd Bt. were divorced in 1946.¹
     Her married name became Ainsworth.

     Commander Walter Randolph Bernard married Millicent Olive Graves, daughter of Augustus Edgar Graves and Josephine Robinson, on 21 October 1912. He died on 18 July 1950.
