     Alexander Corry Candole was born on 26 January 1897.1 He was the son of Venerable Henry Lawe Corry Vully de Candole and Helen Edith Thompson.1 He died on 3 September 1918 at age 21 at Bonningues, France, killed in action.1
     He was educated at Cheltenham College, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, England.1 He fought in the First World War.1
