     William Herbert Clydwyn Llewellyn was born on 1 November 1883.1 He was the son of Robert William Llewellyn and Harriet Annie Blandy.1 He married Dorothy Louisa Carwithen, daughter of Colonel George T. L. Carwithen, on 3 November 1909.1
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.1 He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, England.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant between 1903 and 1918 in the 24th Regiment, South Wales Borderers.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Glamorgan in 1914.1 He fought in the First World War.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of Glamorgan in 1925.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Glamorgan in 1946.1
