     Joan Mary Winifred Charleton is the daughter of George Victor Bellasis Charleton and Hon. Gladys Flora Mostyn. She married P/O Ian Alexander Bruce Johnstone, son of Alexander Johnstone, on 4 October 1941. She married P/O Harry James Rupert Ripper, son of Harry Joseph Edward Ripper, on 27 November 1945.
     Her married name became Johnstone. Her married name became Ripper.

     P/O Ian Alexander Bruce Johnstone was the son of Alexander Johnstone. He married Joan Mary Winifred Charleton, daughter of George Victor Bellasis Charleton and Hon. Gladys Flora Mostyn, on 4 October 1941. He died on 12 March 1942, killed in action.
     P/O Ian Alexander Bruce Johnstone fought in the Second World War. He gained the rank of Pilot Officer in the service of the Royal Air Force.
