     Edward Robert Portal was born on 22 April 1854.1 He was the son of William Thomas Portal and Betsey Attenborough. He married, firstly, Rose Leslie Napier, daughter of John Moore Napier and Elizabetha Amelia Henrietta Alexander, on 17 January 1878.2 He married, secondly, Ellinor Kate Hill, daughter of Captain Charles West Hill, on 10 August 1892.2 He died on 26 March 1953 at age 98.2
     Edward Robert Portal was admitted to Inner Temple in 1880 entitled to practice as a Barrister-at-Law.2 He lived at Sulham House, Pangbourne, Berkshire, England.2

     William Thomas Portal was born on 25 October 1816. He married, firstly, Betsey Attenborough, daughter of George Attenborough, on 9 August 1849. He married, secondly, Frances Marshall, daughter of John Marshall, on 26 August 1860. He died on 12 October 1889 at age 72.
     William Thomas Portal lived at Springfield, Northamptonshire, England.

     Ellinor Kate Hill was the daughter of Captain Charles West Hill.1 She married Edward Robert Portal, son of William Thomas Portal and Betsey Attenborough, on 10 August 1892.1 She died on 25 November 1946.1

     Karl Graf von Blanckenstein was born on 2 October 1814 at Budapest, Hungary.2 He married Konstanze Prinzessin zu Hohenlohe-Langenburg, daughter of Karl Johann Wilhelm Prinz zu Hohenlohe-Langenburg and Friederike Landgräfin zu Fürstenberg, on 11 August 1855 at Brünn, Germany.1 He died on 10 September 1891 at age 76 at Vienna, Austria.1
