John Dewar, 2nd Baron Forteviot1

     John Dewar, 2nd Baron Forteviot was born on 17 March 1885.1 He was the son of John Alexander Dewar, 1st Baron Forteviot and Johann Todd.1 He married, firstly, Marjory Winton Isobel Heaton-Ellis, daughter of Lt.-Col. Sir Charles Henry Brabazon Heaton-Ellis and Marion Pringle McCarthy, on 27 November 1919.2 He married, secondly, Muriel Cecil Harriott Heaton-Ellis, daughter of Lt.-Col. Sir Charles Henry Brabazon Heaton-Ellis and Marion Pringle McCarthy, on 20 August 1946.3 He died on 24 October 1947 at age 62.1
     He was educated at Rugby School, Rugby, Warwickshire, EnglandG.1 He was educated at New College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG.1 He fought in the First World War, with the Scottish Horse.1 He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.)1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) for Perthshire.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Perthshire.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Dewar, of Dupplin, co. Perth [U.K., 1907] on 23 November 1929.3 He succeeded as the 2nd Baron Forteviot, of Dupplin, co. Perth [U.K., 1917] on 23 November 1929.3 He was charman of Distillers Company.1 He was Brigadier of the Royal Company of Archers.1 He gained the rank of Colonel in the 6th/7th Battalion, Black Watch.1

Margaret Elizabeth Holland1

     Margaret Elizabeth Holland was born on 13 November 1873 at Montrose, Forfarshire, Scotland.2 She was the daughter of Henry Holland and Wilhelmina Margarita Nixon.1,2 She married John Alexander Dewar, 1st Baron Forteviot, son of John Dewar and Jane Gow, on 22 March 1905 at Newton Stewart, Wigtownshire, Scotland.1,2 She died on 22 March 1940 at age 66.1 She died on 22 March 1940 at age 66 at Galloway House, Garlieston, Wigtownshire, Scotland.2
     Her married name became Dewar. After her marriage, Margaret Elizabeth Holland was styled as Lady Forteviot on 4 January 1917. She purchased in 1930 at Galloway House, Garlieston.3
