     Ludwig Baron von Leonrod was born on 17 September 1906 at Munich, Germany.¹ He married Monika Baronin von Twickel, daughter of Ferdinand Baron von Twickel and Sidonia Gräfin von und zu Arco-Zinneberg, in March 1943.¹ He died on 26 August 1944 at age 37 at Berlin, Germany, hanged for involvement in the plot to assassinate Hitler.¹
     He fought in the Second World War. He was awarded the Iron Cross in 1941.¹
