He married, firstly, Anna-Mathilde Gräfin von der Achulenburg in 1967 at Arnstorf, Germany. He and Anna-Mathilde Gräfin von der Achulenburg were divorced in 1980. He married, secondly, Henriette Freiin Steeb, daughter of Wolfgang Freiherr Steeb and Madeleine Gräfin Zichy de Zich et Vásonykeö, on 5 February 1986 at Graz, Austria.1
     Joseph Graf von Deym zu Stritetz was also known as Joseph Graf Deym Freiherr von Stritetz.1
