He was the son of Alexander Marie August Stephan Klemens Prinz von Croÿ and Mathilde Gräfin von Stockau. He married, firstly, Klementine Gabrielle Georgine Benoite Marie Prinzessin von Ratibor zu Hohenlohe-Schillingsfürst, daughter of Viktor zu Hohenlohe-Schillingsfürst, 3rd Fürst von Corvey and Elisabeth Prinzessin zu Oettingen-Oettingen und Oettingen-Spielberg, on 11 November 1940 at Rauden, Germany. He and Klementine Gabrielle Georgine Benoite Marie Prinzessin von Ratibor zu Hohenlohe-Schillingsfürst were divorced on 22 October 1948. He married, secondly, Margriet Krayenbrink, daughter of Guillaume Pierre Charles Krayenbrink and Everdina Jurriana de Hoog, on 8 June 1964 at The Hague, The Netherlands. He died on 3 March 1976 at age 66.
