     Her married name became de Burgh.2 She was also known as Cicely Balliol.2

     Sir William Ewart, 1st Bt. was born on 22 November 1817.1 He was the son of William Ewart and Mary Anne Rossman.2 He married Isabella Kelso Mathewson, daughter of Lavens Mathewson, on 10 December 1840.1 He died on 1 August 1889 at age 71.1
     He was head of William Ewart & Son.1 He was President of the Irish Linen Trade and Flax Supply Associations.1 He held the office of Mayor of Belfast between 1859 and 1860.1 He was representative for Northern Ireland linen trade negotiating French Treaty in 1864.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Conservative) for Belfast between 1878 and 1889.1 He was created 1st Baronet Ewart, of Glenmachan, co. Down [U.K.] on 13 September 1887.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)1
