     Edward Julian George Asquith, 2nd Earl of Oxford and Asquith was born on 22 April 1916. He was the son of Raymond Asquith and Katharine Frances Horner.1 He married Anne Mary Celestine Palairet, daughter of Michael Palairet and Mary de Vere Studd, on 28 August 1947.2 He died on 16 January 2011 at age 94.3
     Edward Julian George Asquith, 2nd Earl of Oxford and Asquith also went by the nick-name of 'Trim'. He was educated at Ampleforth College, Ampleforth, Yorkshire, England.3 He succeeded as the 2nd Earl of Oxford and Asquith [U.K., 1925] in 1928. He succeeded as the 2nd Viscount Asquith, of Morley, co. York [U.K., 1925] in 1928. He was educated at Balliol College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.3 He was appointed Companion, Order of St. Michael and St. George (C.M.G.) in 1961.3 He held the office of Governor and Commander-in-Chief of the Seychelles between 1961 and 1967.3 He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of St. Michael and St. George (K.C.M.G.) in 1964.3

     Algernon Walter Strickland was born on 5 March 1891.1 He was the son of Algernon Henry Peter Strickland and Mary Selina Drummond.1 He married Lady Mary Pamela Madeline Sibell Charteris, daughter of Hugo Richard Charteris, 11th Earl of Wemyss and Mary Constance Wyndham, on 4 December 1915.2 He died on 2 August 1938 at age 47.1
     He gained the rank of Captain in the Gloucestershire Yeomanry.1

     Major John George Lyon was born on 13 January 1901.1 He was the son of John Stewart Lyon, 4th of Kirkmichael and Esme Agnes Mary Helen Dunlop.1 He married, firstly, Laura Duncan, daughter of John Bryce Duncan, on 23 February 1928.1 He and Laura Duncan were divorced in 1943.1 He married, secondly, Lady Mary Pamela Madeline Sibell Charteris, daughter of Hugo Richard Charteris, 11th Earl of Wemyss and Mary Constance Wyndham, on 14 April 1943.1
     He was educated at Wellington College, Crowthorne, Berkshire, England.1 He gained the rank of Major in 1939 in the Royal Artillery.1

     John Stewart Lyon, 4th of Kirkmichael was born on 11 June 1868.1 He was the son of George Francis Lyon, 3rd of Kirkmichael and Emma Ramsay Stark.1 He married Esme Agnes Mary Helen Dunlop, daughter of Colin Dunlop, on 9 August 1899.1 He died on 24 March 1934 at age 65.1
     He was educated at Wellington College, Crowthorne, Berkshire, England.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Dumfries-shire.1 He lived at Kirkmichael, Dumfries-shire, ScotlandG.

     Finvola Macdonald was the daughter of Celestine Macdonald of Lochalsh and Finvola Maclean.1 She married John Sutherland, 8th Earl of Sutherland, son of John Sutherland, 7th Earl of Sutherland and Margaret Baillie, in 1467.1 She died, she was allegedly killed in a robbery just after a narrow escape from drowning while crossing the River Unes by ferry.1
     From 1467, her married name became Sutherland.1
