     Sir George Carylon Hughes Armstrong, 1st Bt. was born on 20 July 1836 at Lucknow, IndiaG.1 He was the son of Colonel George Craven Armstrong and Georgianna Hughes.1 He married Alice Fitzroy Furlong, daughter of Reverend Charles Joseph Furlong, on 2 February 1865.1 He died on 20 April 1907 at age 70.1 He was buried at Woking, Surrey, EnglandG.1
     He was a journalist and newspaper proprietor.1 He was created 1st Baronet Armstrong [U.K.] in 1892.1 He has an extensive biographical entry in the Dictionary of National Biography.2

     From 2 February 1865, her married name became Armstrong.2
