     Sir Alexander Bannerman of Elsick, 6th Bt. was born on 22 December 1741.1,2 He was the son of Alexander Bannerman and Margaret Burnett.1 He married Mary Gordon, daughter of James Gordon, 1st of Banchory and Mary Buchan, in 1768.1 He died on 29 December 1813 at age 72.1
     He was given the name of Alexander Bannerman at birth.1 He graduated with a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.)1 On 16 April 1777 his name was legally changed to Alexander Burnett.1 He was Professor of Medicine at University of Aberdeen, Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, ScotlandG.1 On 1 October 1796 his name was legally changed to Alexander Bannerman.1 He succeeded as the 6th Baronet Bannerman, of Elsick, co. Kincardine [N.S., 1682] on 1 October 1796.1 He lived at Kirkhill, Aberdeenshire, ScotlandG.1

     Mary Gordon was the daughter of James Gordon, 1st of Banchory and Mary Buchan.1 She married Sir Alexander Bannerman of Elsick, 6th Bt., son of Alexander Bannerman and Margaret Burnett, in 1768.1
     From 1768, her married name became Bannerman.1

     Sir Alexander Bannerman of Elsick, 7th Bt. was born on 19 December 1769.1 He was the son of Sir Alexander Bannerman of Elsick, 6th Bt. and Mary Gordon.1 He married Rachel Irvine, daughter of John Irvine and Margaret Chambers, on 15 November 1800.2 He died on 31 May 1840 at age 70 at Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, ScotlandG, without issue.3 His will was proven (by probate) in December 1840.3
     He succeeded as the 7th Baronet Bannerman, of Elsick, co. Kincardine [N.S., 1682] on 29 December 1813.3 He lived at Kirkhill, Aberdeenshire, ScotlandG.3
