     Sir Rowland Lytton was the son of Rowland Lytton.² He married Hon. Anne St. John, daughter of Oliver St. John, 3rd Baron Saint John of Bletso and Dorothy Read.² He died in June 1616.¹
     He held the office of Lieutenant of Hertfordshire.² He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Hertfordshire.² He gained the rank of a 'Voluntary Gentleman' in 1585/86 in the Earl of Essex's Cavlary, in the Low Countries.² He was appointed Knight in 1603.² He lived at Knebworth, Hertfordshire, England^G.¹

     Sir John Barrington, 3rd Bt. was born in 1605.¹ He was the son of Sir Thomas Barrington, 2nd Bt. and Francis Gobert.¹ He married Dorothy Lytton, daughter of Sir William Lytton and Anne Slaney, before 1643.¹ He died on 24 March 1682/83.¹ He was buried on 3 April 1683 at Hatfield Broadoak, Essex, England^G.¹ He died intestate and his estate was administered on 11 April 1683.¹
     He was admitted to Gray's Inn on 6 November 1635.¹ He was appointed Knight on 8 May 1638 at Whitehall, London, England^G.¹ He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Barrington, of Barrington Hall [in Hatfield Broadoak], co. Essex [E., 1611] circa September 1644.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Newport, Isle of Wight between November 1645 and December 1648.¹ He held the office of High Sheriff of Essex from 1654 to 1655.¹ He held the office of High Sheriff of Hertfordshire from 1654 to 1655.¹ He was nominated as one of the members of the High Court of Justice to try King Charles I, but he refused to attend its meetings or sign the warrant for teh king's execution.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Newport, Isle of Wight between 1660 and 1679.¹

     Dorothy Lytton was the daughter of Sir William Lytton and Anne Slaney.¹ She married Sir John Barrington, 3rd Bt., son of Sir Thomas Barrington, 2nd Bt. and Francis Gobert, before 1643.¹ She died on 27 October 1703 at St. Mary's Church, Woolnoth, London, England^G.¹ She was buried at Hatfield Broadoak, Essex, England^G.¹ Her will was proven (by probate) in November 1703.¹
     From before 1643, her married name became Barrington.¹

     Sir William Lytton was born circa 1590.¹ He was the son of Sir Rowland Lytton and Hon. Anne St. John.² He married, firstly, Anne Slaney, daughter of Stephen Slaney.¹ He married, secondly, Ruth Barrington, daughter of Sir Francis Barrington, 1st Bt. and Joan Cromwell.² He died in August 1660.¹
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Hertfordshire.² He lived at Knebworth, Hertfordshire, England^G.¹

     Anne Slaney was the daughter of Stephen Slaney.¹ She married Sir William Lytton, son of Sir Rowland Lytton and Hon. Anne St. John.¹
     Her married name became Lytton.¹

     Thomas Barrington is the son of Sir John Barrington, 3rd Bt. and Dorothy Lytton.¹ He married Lady Anne Rich, daughter of Robert Rich, 3rd Earl of Warwick and Anne Cheeke, on 8 November 1664 at Lees Chapel^G.¹

     Lady Anne Rich is the daughter of Robert Rich, 3rd Earl of Warwick and Anne Cheeke.^1,3 She married, secondly, Sir Richard Francklyn, 2nd Bt., son of Sir Richard Francklyn, 1st Bt.. She married Thomas Barrington, son of Sir John Barrington, 3rd Bt. and Dorothy Lytton, on 8 November 1664 at Lees Chapel^G.¹
     Her married name became Francklyn. From 8 November 1664, her married name became Barrington.¹

     Sir John Barrington, 4th Bt. was born on 16 October 1670.¹ He was the son of Thomas Barrington and Lady Anne Rich.¹ He died on 26 November 1691 at age 21 at St. Clement Danes Church, The Strand, London, England^G, from smallpox, unmarried.¹ He was buried at Hatfield Broadoak, Essex, England^G.¹ He died intestate and his estate was administered on 18 December 1691, and again 16 November 1693.¹
     He succeeded as the 4th Baronet Barrington, of Barrington Hall [in Hatfield Broadoak], co. Essex [E., 1611] on 24 March 1682/83.¹
