     Gertrude Margaret Lowthian Bell was born circa 1868.3 She was the daughter of Sir Thomas Hugh Bell, 2nd Bt. and Maria Shield.1 She died on 12 July 1926, unmarried.1
     She was an author and Oriental scholar.1 She was Oriental Secretary to the High Commissioner, Mesopotamia.1 She was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.) in 1917.1

     Florence Eveleen Eleanor Olliffe was the daughter of Sir Joseph Olliffe.1 She married Sir Thomas Hugh Bell, 2nd Bt., son of Sir Isaac Lowthian Bell, 1st Bt. and Margaret Pattinson, on 10 August 1876. She died on 16 May 1930.1
     From 10 August 1876, her married name became Bell.1 She held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)1 She was appointed Dame Commander, Order of the British Empire (D.B.E.) in 1918.1 She gained the title of Dame Florence Bell in 1918.1

     John Lowthian Bell was born on 17 June 1925 at Johannesburg, Transvaal, South AfricaG.1 He was the son of Reverend Hugh Lowthian Bell and Frances Helena Morkill.1 He died on 20 February 1944 at age 18, killed in action onboard H.M.S. Warwick.1,2
     He gained the rank of Ordinary Seaman in the Royal Naval Volunteer Seaman.1 He fought in the Second World War.1
