Rev. Dr. William Boyd of Myrton1

     Rev. Dr. William Boyd of Myrton was the son of Reverend Andrew Boyd and Margaret Boyd.1 He married Joanna Maitland, daughter of Reverend James Maitland, on 16 August 1762.1 He died on 17 June 1794.1
     He graduated from University of Edinburgh, Edinburgh, Midlothian, ScotlandG, with a Doctor of Divinity (D.D.)1 He graduated from University of Edinburgh, Edinburgh, Midlothian, ScotlandG, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He graduated from University of Glasgow, Glasgow, Lanarkshire, ScotlandG, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He was the Minister at Penninghame, Wigtownshire, ScotlandG.1 In 1772 he purchased the lands and barony of Myrton (Mertonhall), Wigtownshire from Charles Gordon, WS.1

     Jean Boyd was born on 26 May 1730.1 She was the daughter of Reverend Andrew Boyd and Margaret Boyd.1 She married Reverend John Scott, son of Reverend John Scott, on 17 August 1768.1 She died on 21 June 1819 at age 89.1
     From 17 August 1768, her married name became Scott.1
