     He was educated at Trinity College, Dublin University, Dublin, County Dublin, IrelandG.1 He gained the rank of Major in the Royal Army Medical Corps.1 He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.) in 1917.1 He was awarded the Order of St. Sava of Serbia.1 He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1921.1

     Major John Rickards Galwey was born on 7 July 1910.1 He was the son of Major William Rickards Galwey and Emily Frances Valentine.1 He married, firstly, Margaret Louise Maitland, daughter of Reginald Ferdinando Maitland, on 26 June 1932.1 He and Margaret Louise Maitland were divorced before 1949.1 He married, secondly, Audrey Lane, daughter of William Lane, on 2 January 1951.1 He died in November 1997 at age 87 at Cheshire, England.2
     He was educated at Shrewsbury School, Shrewsbury, Shropshire, EnglandG.1 He was educated at London University, London, EnglandG.1 He fought in the Second World War, in the King's African Rifles.1 He gained the rank of Major in the Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers.1 He was appointed Member, Order of the British Empire (M.B.E.) in 1969.1 He lived in 1976 at 8 Moorhouse Close, Upton-by-Chester, Cheshire, EnglandG.1
