     Jean Gordon Farquharson is the daughter of Norman Gordon Farquharson.1 She married, firstly, Rupert John Orlando Lascelles, son of Lt.-Col. John Norman Pulteney Lascelles and Elizabeth Katherine Joan Manners, on 25 November 1963.1 She and Rupert John Orlando Lascelles were divorced in 1988.1 She married, secondly, Sir Thomas Allen on 12 March 1988.1
     Her married name became Lascelles. From 12 March 1988, her married name became Allen.1

     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.2 He fought in the First World War.2 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Grenadier Guards (SR.)2 He was educated at New College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.2 He was director of W H Smith between 1922 and 1944.2 He was awarded the Territorial Decoration (T.D.)2 He fought in the Second World War.2 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Royal Artillery.2 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Dorset in 1945.2 He held the office of High Sheriff of Dorset in 1957.2 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Dorset in 1959.2
