     Charles Gerald Brocklebank was born on 21 March 1893.2 He was the son of Reverend Charles Henry Brocklebank and Isabel Katherine Webster.1 He married Beatrice Gresley Madan, daughter of Falconer Madan and Frances Jane Hayter, on 22 April 1925.2 He died on 28 May 1940 at age 47.2
     He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Engineers.1 He was awarded the Médaille Militaire.1 He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.)1

     Beatrice Gresley Madan was the daughter of Falconer Madan and Frances Jane Hayter.1,2 She married Charles Gerald Brocklebank, son of Reverend Charles Henry Brocklebank and Isabel Katherine Webster, on 22 April 1925.1 She died in 1992.1
     From 22 April 1925, her married name became Brocklebank.1

     He was a librarian at Bodleian Library, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.2
