     George Broun, Lord Colstoun is the son of Charles Broun and Jean Broun.1 He married Elizabeth Dalrymple, daughter of Hew Dalrymple, Lord Drummore and Anne Horn.
     He held the office of Lord of Session [Scotland].1 He was styled as Lord Colstoun.1

     Alexander Broun is the son of George Broun and Marion Turnbull.1,2 He married, firstly, Catharine Swinton, daughter of Sir Alexander Swinton, 22nd of that Ilk and Margaret Home.1 He married, secondly, Mary Bruce, daughter of Robert Bruce, 2nd of Kinnaird and Margaret Menteith, on 1 June 1685.2
     He lived at Bassendean, Berwickshire, ScotlandG.1

Sir George Broun of Thornidykes, 3rd Bt.1

     Sir George Broun of Thornidykes, 3rd Bt. was baptised on 26 May 1679 at Westruther, Berwickshire, Scotland.2,3 He was the son of Alexander Broun and Catharine Swinton.1 He married Janet Spottiswoode, daughter of Alexander Spottiswoode and Helen Trotter, on 22 August 1706.1,2 He died on 15 August 1734 at age 55, without issue.1,2
     He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Broun, of Coulston, co. Haddington [N.S., 1686] in 1718.1
