     John Brownrigg was born in 1729.1 He was the son of Thomas Brownrigg and Mary Bennett.1
     He graduated from Trinity College, Dublin University, Dublin, County Dublin, IrelandG, in 1750 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1 He was ancestor of the Brownriggs of Moneylawn and Tomgar, County Wexford.1

     General Sir Robert Brownrigg, 1st Bt. was born on 8 February 1758.1 He was the son of Henry Brownrigg and Mary Alcock. He married, firstly, Elizabeth Catherine Lewis, daughter of William Lewis, on 8 April 1783.1 He married, secondly, Sophia Bisset, daughter of Dr. Alexander Bisset and Jane Bockland, on 27 June 1818.1 He died on 27 May 1833 at age 75.1
     He held the office of Governor of Landguard Fort.1 He gained the rank of Colonel in the 9th Foot.1 He held the office of Governor of Ceylon in 1812.1 He was created 1st Baronet Brownrigg [U.K.] on 9 March 1816.1 He was appointed Knight Grand Cross, Order of the Bath (G.C.B.)1
