     Sir Thomas Lauder Brunton, 1st Bt. was born on 14 March 1844.1 He was the son of James Brunton and Agnes Stenhouse.1 He married Louisa Jane Stopford, daughter of Venerable Edward Adderley Stopford, on 20 September 1879.1 He died on 16 September 1916 at age 72.1
     He graduated from University of Edinburgh, Edinburgh, Midlothian, ScotlandG, in 1866 with a Bachelor of Medicine (M.B.)1 He graduated from University of Edinburgh, Edinburgh, Midlothian, ScotlandG, in 1867 with a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.)1 He graduated from University of Edinburgh, Edinburgh, Midlothian, ScotlandG, in 1868 with a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.)1 He graduated from University of Edinburgh, Edinburgh, Midlothian, ScotlandG, in 1870 with a Doctor of Science (Sc.D.)1 He was appointed Fellow, Royal College of Physicians, London (F.R.C.P.) in 1876.1 He was appointed Fellow, Royal Society (F.R.S.)1 He was a consultant physician at St. Bartholomew's Hospital, London, EnglandG.1 He was awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Law (LL.D.) by Aberdeen University, Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, ScotlandG, in 1889.1 He was awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Law (LL.D.) by University of Edinburgh, Edinburgh, Midlothian, ScotlandG, in 1898.1 He was appointed Knight in 1900.1 He was awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) by Dublin University, Dublin, County Dublin, IrelandG, in 1908.1 He was created 1st Baronet Brunton, of Stratford Place, St. Marylebone [U.K.] on 17 July 1908.1 He has an extensive biographical entry in the Dictionary of National Biography.2

     Sir James Porter Corry, 1st Bt. was born on 8 September 1826.1 He was the son of Robert Corry and Jane Porter.2 He married Margaret Service, daughter of William Service, on 10 July 1849.1 He died on 28 November 1891 at age 65.1
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Belfast between 1874 and 1885.1 He was created 1st Baronet Corry, of Dunraven, co. Antrim [U.K.] on 15 September 1885.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Mid-Armagh between 1886 and 1891.1
