     Colonel William Gore-Langton was born in December 1760.2 He was the son of Edward Gore and Barbara Browne.2 He married, secondly, Mary Browne, daughter of John Browne.2 He married, firstly, Bridget Langton, daughter of Joseph Langton, in 1783.2 He died in 1847.2
     He was given the name of William Gore at birth.1 In 1783 his name was legally changed to William Gore-Langton by Royal Licence.2 He gained the rank of Colonel in the Oxford Militia.2 He lived at Newton Park, Somerset, EnglandG.1

     From 16 September 1903, her married name became Hankey. After her marriage, Adeline Hermine Gertrude Ernestine de Smidt was styled as Baroness Hankey on 3 February 1939.
