General Robert Dalrymple-Horn-Elphinstone of Horn and Westhall1

     General Robert Dalrymple-Horn-Elphinstone of Horn and Westhall was the son of Hew Dalrymple, Lord Drummore and Anne Horn.2 He married Mary Elphinstone, daughter of Sir James Elphinstone, 3rd Bt. and Jean Rattray, on 9 July 1754.3,4 He died in 1794.2
     His name was legally changed to Robert Dalrymple-Horn.4 He lived at Logie Elphinstone, Aberdeenshire, ScotlandG.5 He was given the name of Robert Dalrymple at birth.5 His name was legally changed to Robert Dalrymple-Horn-Elphinstone. He gained the rank of Colonel in the 53rd Regiment of Foot.4

     Sir Thomas Burnett of Leys, 8th Bt. was born on 22 August 1778.1 He was the son of Sir Robert Burnett of Leys, 7th Bt. and Margaret Dalrymple-Horn-Elphinstone.1 He died on 16 February 1849 at age 70, unmarried.1
     He succeeded as the 8th Baronet Burnett, of Leys, co. Kincardine [N.S., 1626] on 5 January 1837.1 He held the office of Lord-Lieutenant of Kincardineshire in 1847.1 He held the office of Sheriff Principal of Kincardineshire in 1847.1

     Sir Alexander Burnett of Leys, 9th Bt. was born on 17 December 1789 at Crathes Castle, Kincardineshire, ScotlandG.2 He was the son of Sir Robert Burnett of Leys, 7th Bt. and Margaret Dalrymple-Horn-Elphinstone.1 He died on 20 March 1856 at age 66, unmarried.1
     He was in the Honourable East India Company Service.1 He succeeded as the 9th Baronet Burnett, of Leys, co. Kincardine [N.S., 1626] on 16 February 1849.1

     Sir James Horn Burnett of Leys, 10th Bt. was born on 22 June 1801 at Crathes Castle, Kincardineshire, ScotlandG.2 He was the son of Sir Robert Burnett of Leys, 7th Bt. and Margaret Dalrymple-Horn-Elphinstone.1 He married, firstly, Caroline Margaret Spearman, daughter of Charles Spearman and Sarah Brooke, on 3 February 1831.1 He married, secondly, Lauderdale Ramsay, daughter of Sir Alexander Ramsay of Balmain, 1st Bt. and Elizabeth Bannerman, on 12 July 1837.1 He died on 17 September 1876 at age 75 at Crathes Castle, Kincardineshire, ScotlandG.2
     He held the office of Writer to the Signet (W.S.) in 1824.2 He succeeded as the 10th Baronet Burnett, of Leys, co. Kincardine [N.S., 1626] on 20 March 1856.1 He held the office of Lord-Lieutenant of Kincardineshire in 1863.2 He held the office of Sheriff Principal of Kincardineshire.1

     Margaret Burnett was baptised on 9 April 1796 at Banchory Ternan, Kincardineshire, Scotland.2 She was the daughter of Sir Robert Burnett of Leys, 7th Bt. and Margaret Dalrymple-Horn-Elphinstone.1 She married Captain Thomas Ramsay, son of Sir Alexander Ramsay of Balmain, 1st Bt. and Elizabeth Bannerman, on 28 April 1826.1 She died on 17 January 1836 at age 39.1
     From 28 April 1826, her married name became Ramsay.1

     Captain Thomas Ramsay was born on 23 February 1786 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.2 He was also reported to have been born on 24 February 1786.3 He was the son of Sir Alexander Ramsay of Balmain, 1st Bt. and Elizabeth Bannerman.1,3 He married, firstly, Jane Cruikshank, daughter of Patrick Cruikshank of Stracathro, on 9 November 1816.3 He married, secondly, Margaret Burnett, daughter of Sir Robert Burnett of Leys, 7th Bt. and Margaret Dalrymple-Horn-Elphinstone, on 28 April 1826.1 He died on 17 December 1857 at age 71.3
     He was given the name of Thomas Burnett at birth.3 In 1806 his name was legally changed to Thomas Ramsay. He gained the rank of Captain in the 47th Foot.3

     Caroline Margaret Spearman was the daughter of Charles Spearman and Sarah Brooke.1,2 She married Sir James Horn Burnett of Leys, 10th Bt., son of Sir Robert Burnett of Leys, 7th Bt. and Margaret Dalrymple-Horn-Elphinstone, on 3 February 1831.1 She died on 22 March 1836.1
     From 3 February 1831, her married name became Burnett.1

     Sir Robert Burnett of Leys, 11th Bt. was born on 28 August 1833 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, ScotlandG.2 He was the son of Sir James Horn Burnett of Leys, 10th Bt. and Caroline Margaret Spearman.1 He married Matilda Josephine Murphy, daughter of James Murphy, on 23 May 1864.1 He died on 15 January 1894 at age 60 at Crossburn House, East Wemyss, Fife, ScotlandG, without surviving male issue.3
     He matriculated at Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, on 22 October 1851.3 He graduated from Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, in 1856 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)3 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Aberdeenshire.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Aberdeenshire.1 He succeeded as the 11th Baronet Burnett, of Leys, co. Kincardine [N.S., 1626] on 17 September 1876.1

     Matilda Josephine Murphy was the daughter of James Murphy.1 She married Sir Robert Burnett of Leys, 11th Bt., son of Sir James Horn Burnett of Leys, 10th Bt. and Caroline Margaret Spearman, on 23 May 1864.1 She died on 25 April 1888.1
     From 23 May 1864, her married name became Burnett.1
