     Brigadier Walter George Ormonde Butler was born on 20 December 1917.1,2 He was the son of Lt.-Col. Charles Walter Butler and Vivien Eleanor Bowen.3 He married Pamela Winsome Muriel Owen, daughter of Sydney Owen, on 5 January 1945.1 He died on 6 June 1967 at age 49, killed in a helicopter crash.1
     He was educated at Charterhouse School, Godalming, Surrey, EnglandG.1 He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He gained the rank of 2nd Lieutenant on 27 January 1938.2 He fought in the Second World War.1 He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.)1 He gained the rank of Brigadier in the Queen's Royal Irish Hussars.1 He did his National Service as a Brigadier in the Guides Cavalry, Indian Army.1 He fought in the Korean War.1 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1951.1

     From 5 January 1945, her married name became Butler. From 1970, her married name became Moore.1
