     Mary Anne Birkbeck was the daughter of Henry Birkbeck.2 She married Samuel Gurney Buxton, son of Sir Edward North Buxton, 2nd Bt. and Catherine Gurney, on 7 June 1886.1 She died in April 1938.1
     From 7 June 1886, her married name became Buxton.

     Richard Gurney Buxton was born in 1887.1 He was the son of Samuel Gurney Buxton and Mary Anne Birkbeck.2 He married Mary Primrose Ralli, daughter of Major Antonio Stephen Ralli and Mina Scaramanga, on 16 July 1914.1 He died in 1972.1
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He was educated at Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, EnglandG.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the Norfolk Yeomanry.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Norfolk.1

     From 24 May 1948, her married name became MacCarthy. She lived in 2003 at Wiveton Hal, Holt, Norfolk, EnglandG.1
