     Anne Sherwood is the daughter of Maj.-Gen. J. D. Sherwood.1 She married David Scott Carmichael Smyth, son of James Carmichael Smyth and Mary Holyland, on 25 January 1818.1
     From 25 January 1818, her married name became Carmichael Smyth.1

Colonel James Doddington Carmichael1

     Colonel James Doddington Carmichael was born on 14 August 1820.1 He was the son of David Scott Carmichael Smyth and Anne Sherwood.2 He married Barré Georgina Latter, daughter of Major Barré Richard William Latter and Juliana Anne Jeffreys, in 1859.1 He married Teresa Anne Morris, daughter of Thomas Morris, in 1869.1 He died on 13 May 1893 at age 72.1
     He was given the name of James Doddington Carmichael Smyth at birth.1 He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 His name was legally changed to James Doddington Carmichael by Royal Licence.1 He gained the rank of Colonel in the 32nd Regiment.1 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.)1

Major Barré Richard William Latter1

     Major Barré Richard William Latter was born on 22 July 1777.2 He was the son of Thomas Latter and Elizabeth Dashwood.2 He married Juliana Anne Jeffreys, daughter of Reverend Richard Jeffreys and Sarah Gilder, on 11 January 1814 at Bengal, India.2 He died on 12 September 1822 at age 45 at Kisharganj, Bihar, India.2

     Barré Georgina Latter was born on 11 September 1822 at Bengal, India.2 She was the daughter of Major Barré Richard William Latter and Juliana Anne Jeffreys.3,2 She married, firstly, William Christian Watson, son of Thomas Coldough Watson and Sarah James.2 She married, secondly, Colonel James Doddington Carmichael, son of David Scott Carmichael Smyth and Anne Sherwood, in 1859.1
     Her married name became Watson.2 From 1859, her married name became Carmichael.1

Lieutenant James Barre Hood Carmichael1

     Lieutenant James Barre Hood Carmichael was born on 12 July 1860.1 He was the son of Colonel James Doddington Carmichael and Barré Georgina Latter.2 He died on 18 September 1880 at age 20, killed in a landslip, unmarried.1
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the 33rd Regiment.1

Claude Dundas James Carmichael1

     Claude Dundas James Carmichael was born on 21 October 1862.2 He was the son of Colonel James Doddington Carmichael and Barré Georgina Latter.2 He married Mary Glencairn Shaw, daughter of James Shaw, on 5 July 1888.2 He died on 8 September 1915 at age 52.2
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Duke of Cornwall Light Infantry.2 He was an officer with the Madras Police Force.2 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Indian Empire (C.I.E.)2 He unsuccessfully claimed the dormant titles of the Eral of Hyndford.2 He held the position of 27th Chief of the Name and Arms of Carmichael from on 31 May 1902.1

Major Hon. John Taaffe1

     Major Hon. John Taaffe was the son of Theobald Taaffe, 1st Earl of Carlingford and Mary White.1 He married Lady Rose Lambart, daughter of Charles Lambart, 1st Earl of the County of Cavan and Hon. Jane Robartes, after 1666.1 He died in April 1689, killed in action.1
     He lived at Calliaghstown, County Louth, IrelandG.1 He gained the rank of Major in the King James's army.1 He fought in the Siege of Derry in April 1689.1

     Teresa Anne Morris was the daughter of Thomas Morris.2 She married, firstly, Captain unknown Scott.1 She married, secondly, Colonel James Doddington Carmichael, son of David Scott Carmichael Smyth and Anne Sherwood, in 1869.1 She died on 21 February 1918.
     Her married name became Scott.1 From 1869, her married name became Carmichael.1

Charles Paget Carmichael1

     Charles Paget Carmichael was born on 8 November 1829.1 He was the son of David Scott Carmichael Smyth and Anne Sherwood.2 He married, firstly, Georgina Rebecca Judge, daughter of Canon unknown Judge, on 8 November 1853.1 He married, secondly, Annabella Violet Crofton, daughter of John Crofton, in 1887.2 He died on 29 January 1900 at age 70.2
     He was given the name of Charles Paget Carmichael Smyth at birth.1 He was educated at Harrow School, Harrow, London, EnglandG.1 He was in the Indian Civil Service.1 His name was legally changed to Charles Paget Carmichael by Royal Licence.1 He held the office of Commissioner of Benares.1 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Star of India (C.S.I.)1
