Captain Charles Chalmers1

     Captain Charles Chalmers was the son of Reverend James Chalmers.1 He married, firstly, Jean Boog, daughter of Alexander Boog.2 He married, secondly, Helen Young, daughter of Alexander Young, in 1703.2 He died on 13 November 1714 at Sheriffmuir, ScotlandG, killed in action.2
     He gained the rank of Ensign on 24 February 1703 in the Scots Guards.2 He was a practising Writer to the Signet (W.S.) in 1704.1,2 He retired from the military in 1714, with the rank of Captain.2 He fought in the Battle of Sheriffmuir on 13 November 1714.2

     Roderick Chalmers is the son of Captain Charles Chalmers.1 He married Mary Wilson, daughter of George Wilson.1
     He held the office of Ross Herald in 1724.1

Sir Charles Chalmers, 2nd Bt.1

     Sir Charles Chalmers, 2nd Bt. was the son of Roderick Chalmers and Mary Wilson.1 He died in November 1760 at Pondicherry, IndiaG, unmarried.1 He died intestate and his estate was administered to his brother, James on 24 September 1762.1
     He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Regiment of Artillery.1 He was styled as 2nd Baronet Chalmers, of Cults, in the parish of Tarland, co. Aberdeen [N.S., 1664] circa 1745, recognised by the Lyon Office, although Cokayne doubts the correctness of this sucession.1
