     Lt.-Col. Richard Talbot Plantagenet Stapleton was born in 1834 at Greys Court, Oxfordshire, EnglandG.1 He was the son of Rev. Hon. Sir Francis Jarvis Stapleton, 7th Bt. and Margaret Airey.1 He married Emma Shafto, daughter of Reverend John Duncombe Shafto, in 1877.2 He died on 28 April 1899.1
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the 19th Hussars.3

     Emma Shafto was the daughter of Reverend John Duncombe Shafto.2 She married Lt.-Col. Richard Talbot Plantagenet Stapleton, son of Rev. Hon. Sir Francis Jarvis Stapleton, 7th Bt. and Margaret Airey, in 1877.2 She died on 14 July 1935.2,3
     From 1877, her married name became Stapleton.2

     Sir Miles Talbot Stapleton, 9th Bt. was born on 26 May 1893 at Greys Court, Oxfordshire, EnglandG.2 He was the son of Lt.-Col. Richard Talbot Plantagenet Stapleton and Emma Shafto.2 He married, firstly, Doris Ludford, daughter of Hedley Ludford, on 6 December 1912.3 He married, secondly, Miriam Edna Ludford, daughter of Hedley Ludford, on 6 November 1935.3 He died on 4 April 1977 at age 83.4
     He succeeded as the 9th Baronet Stapleton, of the Leeward Islands in America [E., 1679] on 30 October 1899.1 He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.3 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the 3rd Battalion, Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry.3 He fought in the First World War between 1914 and 1919.3
