     John Evelyn Leslie Pepys was born on 15 August 1911.1 He was the son of Colonel Gerald Leslie Pepys and Charlotte Helen Forbes.2 He married Zita Mary Noble, daughter of Robert Emilius Noble, on 19 January 1943.1 He died on 6 September 1981 at age 70.1
     He was educated at Sherborne School, Sherborne, Dorset, EnglandG.1 He graduated from Corpus Christi College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, in 1934 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1 He fought in the Second World War.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the Recce Corps.1 He graduated from Corpus Christi College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, in 1946 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1

     Geraldine Mary Leslie Pepys was born on 16 August 1908.1 She was the daughter of Colonel Gerald Leslie Pepys and Charlotte Helen Forbes.2 She married Lt.-Col. William Louis Barnard, son of Reverend Gilbert William Barnard, on 2 July 1935.1 She died on 18 April 1994 at age 85.1
     From 2 July 1935, her married name became Barnard.

     He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry.1
