     Lt.-Col. William Louis Barnard was the son of Reverend Gilbert William Barnard.² He married Geraldine Mary Leslie Pepys, daughter of Colonel Gerald Leslie Pepys and Charlotte Helen Forbes, on 2 July 1935.¹ He died on 26 November 1953.¹
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry.¹
