John Elphinstone of Glack1

     John Elphinstone of Glack was the son of James Elphinstone of Glack and Janet Leslie.2 He married Anna Irvine, daughter of James Irvine of Artamford.1 He died circa 22 October 1691.3
     He was Honorary Burgess of Inverurie in 1671.4 Circa 15 August 1676 he succeeded to Glack.4

John Elphinstone of Glack1

     John Elphinstone of Glack was the son of John Elphinstone of Glack and Margaret Forbes.2 He married Jean Achyndachy, daughter of Alexander Achyndachy of that Ilk, in 1734.1 He died in September 1758.1
     He was Honorary Burgess of Aberdeen in 1731.1 On 15 January 1735 he was served heir to his father in Glack.3 He succeeded as the 5th Baronet Elphinstone, of Logie Elphinstone, co. Aberdeen and Nova Scotia [N.S., 1701] in January 1743, de jure.1 Burkes Peerage 2003 has this John married firstly to Margaret Forbes (his mother according to earlier editions of Burkes.)

William Elphinstone1

     William Elphinstone was the son of James Elphinstone of Glack and Elizabeth Wood.2 He married Margaret Forbes.1 He died circa 16 December 1664.1
     On 27 May 1653 he purchased the estate of Ressiviot, in Milntoun of Durnoch.1 He lived at Ressiviot, Milntoun of Durnoch, ScotlandG.1

Sir James Elphinstone of Logie, 1st Bt.1

     Sir James Elphinstone of Logie, 1st Bt. was born in 1642.2 He was the son of William Elphinstone and Margaret Forbes.3 He married Cecilia Denholme, daughter of John Denholme of Muirhouse and West Shield and Catherine Nairne, on 2 September 1673.2 He died on 10 March 1722.2
     He was Writer to the Signet (W.S.) in 1671.2 In 1676 he bought the lands of Logie Durnoch.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Aberdeenshire [Scotland] between 1693 and 1702.2 He held the office of Judge of the Commissary Court of Edinburgh in 1696.3 He was created 1st Baronet Elphinstone, of Logie Elphinstone, co. Aberdeen and Nova Scotia [Nova Scotia] on 2 December 1701, with remainder to his heirs male whatsoever.2

     John Denholme of Muirhouse and West Shield was born circa 1612.2 He married Catherine Nairne on 15 August 1632 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.2 He died after 1667.2

     Cecilia Denholme was baptised on 15 January 1646/47 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.2 She was the daughter of John Denholme of Muirhouse and West Shield and Catherine Nairne.3,2 She married Sir James Elphinstone of Logie, 1st Bt., son of William Elphinstone and Margaret Forbes, on 2 September 1673.1 She died on 10 November 1706 at age 59.1
     From 2 September 1673, her married name became Elphinstone.1

     Sir John Elphinstone, 2nd Bt. was born in 1675.1 He was the son of Sir James Elphinstone of Logie, 1st Bt. and Cecilia Denholme.2 He married Mary Elliot, daughter of Sir Gilbert Elliot of Headshaw, 1st Bt. and Helen Stevenson, on 23 August 1703.1 He died on 14 March 1732.1
     He was admitted to the Faculty of Advocates on 15 February 1699.1 He held the office of Sheriff of Aberdeenshire.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Elphinstone, of Logie Elphinstone, co. Aberdeen and Nova Scotia [N.S., 1701] on 10 March 1722.1
