     Matthew Colthurst was the son of Henry Colthurst and unknown Parker.2 He married, secondly, Anne Sybill, daughter of Nicholas Sybill.1 He married, firstly, Anne Grimston, daughter of Thomas Grimston.1 He died on 8 July 1559.1
     He acquired much monastic property in Somerset.1 He lived at Wardour Castle, Wiltshire, EnglandG.1 He was also known as Matthew Colthurst.1 He held the office of Treasurer of the Ordnance in 1554.1

     Edmund Colthurst was born in 1527.1 He was the son of Matthew Colthurst and Anne Grimston.2 He married Elinor de la Rivere, daughter of Thomas de la Rivere.1 He died after 1611.1
     He sold Hinton Priory together with most of his other estates.1 He lived at Hinton Priory, Somerset, EnglandG.1
