     William Massy was born on 18 February 1815.1 He was the son of Robert George Massy and Helen Sutton.2 He married Sophia Grant, daughter of Alexander Grant, on 30 September 1857.1 He died on 22 July 1875 at age 60.2
     He lived at Ballyglasheen, County Tipperary, IrelandG.2 He lived at Caervillahow, Golden, Cashel, County Tipperary, IrelandG.1

     Godfrey Warburton Massy was born on 27 April 1863.1 He was the son of William Massy and Sophia Grant.2 He married Gertrude Annette Seton Massy, daughter of Lt.-Gen. William Godfrey Dunham Massy and Elizabeth Jane Seaton, on 27 December 1904.1
     He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Irish Rifles.1 He fought in the Boer War between 1900 and 1901.1 He lived at Caervillahow, Golden, Cashel, County Tipperary, IrelandG.1

Lt.-Gen. William Godfrey Dunham Massy1

     Lt.-Gen. William Godfrey Dunham Massy was born on 24 November 1838.2 He was the son of Henry William Massy and Maria Cahill.2 He married Elizabeth Jane Seaton, daughter of Maj.-Gen. Sir Thomas Seaton, on 20 November 1869.2 He died on 20 September 1906 at age 67.2
     He was educated at Trinity College, Dublin University, Dublin, County Dublin, IrelandG.2 He fought in the Crimean War in 1855, where he was dangerously wounded at the Redan, and was mentioned in despatches.2 He was awarded the Chevalier, Ordre national de la Légion d'honneur.2 He was awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Law (LL.D.) by Trinity College, Dublin University, Dublin, County Dublin, IrelandG, in 1873.2 He fought in the Afghan War between 1879 and 1880, where he was mentioned in despatches.2 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.) in 1887.2 He held the office of High Sheriff of County Tipperary in 1899.2 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of County Tipperary.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for County Tipperary.2 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-General in the 5th Royal Irish Lancers.2 He lived at Grantstown, County Tipperary, IrelandG.1

William Godfrey Dunham Massy and Elizabeth Jane Seaton.2,3 She married, firstly, Colonel James George Cockburn on 21 September 1893.1,3 She married, secondly, Godfrey Warburton Massy, son of William Massy and Sophia Grant, on 27 December 1904.1
     From 21 September 1893, her married name became Cockburn.1 From 27 December 1904, her married name became Massy.

     George William Hughes Massey was born on 16 June 1864.1 He was the son of William Massy and Sophia Grant.2 He married, firstly, Edith Margaret Birrell, daughter of John Birrell, in 1889.1 He married, secondly, Marion Clarke, daughter of George Bryson Clarke, on 28 May 1912.1 He died on 19 June 1914 at age 50.1
