     Maj.-Gen. Sir Edward Maxwell Perceval was born on 13 August 1861 at Bellewstown, County Meath, Ireland.2,3 He was the son of General John Maxwell Perceval. He married, firstly, Marian Bowles, daughter of Dr. R. L. Bowles, on 11 January 1894.2,3 He married, secondly, Norah Sabine Mayne, daughter of Rear-Admiral Richard E. Mayne, in 1906.2 He died on 26 November 1955 at age 94 at The Grange, Farnham, Surrey, EnglandG.2
     He was educated at Royal Academy School, Gosport, Hampshire, EnglandG.2 He was commissioned in 1880, in the service of the Royal Artillery.2 He was educated at Royal Military Academy, Woolwich, London, England.2 He fought in the Boer War between 1899 and 1900.2 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1900.1 He gained the rank of Brigadier-General in 1914.2 He fought in the First World War.2 He gained the rank of Major-General in 1915.2 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.) in 1915.2 He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the Bath (K.C.B.) in 1922.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)1 He lived at The Grange, Farnham, Surrey, EnglandG.1

     Diana Perceval was born on 13 April 1909.2 She was the daughter of Maj.-Gen. Sir Edward Maxwell Perceval and Norah Sabine Mayne.3,4 She married Major Sir Charles Arthur John Cooke, 11th Bt., son of Sir William Henry Charles Wemyss Cooke, 10th Bt. and Lady Mildred Adelaide Cecilia Denison, on 12 July 1932.1 She died in 1989.1
     From 12 July 1932, her married name became Cooke.
