     Margaret Janet Olivia Acton was born on 3 November 1913.1 She was the daughter of Theodore John Chichester Acton and Margaret de Carteret Martin.1 She married Lt.-Col. Albert Henry Hawker, son of Harry John Hawker, on 1 August 1942.1 She died on 11 September 1980 at age 66 at Bishop Stortford, Hertfordshire, England.2
     She gained the rank of Junior Commander, in the Auxiliary Territorial Service (organized in 1941 for women serving in the Royal Army.)1 She fought in the Second World War.1 From 1 August 1942, her married name became Hawker.
