William Cooke-Collis was born on 1 August 1847.2 He was the son of Reverend Maurice Atkin Cooke-Collis and Anne Talbot.3,4 He married, firstly, Catherine Maria Oliphant, daughter of Lt.-Col. James Oliphant and Sophia Ann Trewman, on 6 November 1875.1 He married, secondly, Elizabeth Marion Shrubsole Cunliffe, daughter of Edward Cunliffe, on 4 September 1894.2 He died on 2 April 1933 at age 85.2
