     Alexander Egan Barrow was born on 1 April 1888.2 He was the son of Reverend Kingston Egan Barrow and Amy Rothney.1 He died on 4 October 1917 at age 29 at FranceG, killed in action.1,2
     He was educated at Marlborough College, Marlborough, Wiltshire, England.2 He fought in the First World War.1

General Sir Edmund George Barrow1

     General Sir Edmund George Barrow was born on 28 January 1852.1 He was the son of Maj.-Gen. Joseph Lyon Barrow and Alicia Egan.1 He married Marion Letitia Story, daughter of Reverend William Story, on 14 November 1882.1 He died on 3 January 1934 at age 81.1
     He was educated at Marlborough College, Marlborough, Wiltshire, EnglandG.1 He was commissioned in 1871.1 He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He fought in the Second Afghan War between 1878 and 1879.1 He fought in the Egyptian Campaign in 1882.1 He was a member of the Lockhart Boundary Mission to Chitral, Kafiristan, Hunza and Wakhan between 1885 and 1886.1 He was a member of the Anglo-Siamese Boundary Commission between 1889 and 1890.1 He was Colonel of the Regiment of the Hong Kong Regiment between 1892 and 1895 which he also raised.1 He fought in the Tiran Expedition between 1897 and 1898, during which he was mentioned in despatches.1 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.) in 1898.1 He fought in the Boxer Rebellion in 1900, as the Chief of Staff of the China Expeditionary Force. He was mentioned in despatches during this posting.1 He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the Bath (K.C.B.) in 1900.1 He held the office of Secretary, Government of India Military Department between 1901 and 1903.1 He was the Commander of the 1st Division India between 1904 and 1907.1 He was Commandant of the Army of India between 1908 and 1912.1 He gained the rank of General in the Indian Army.1 He was appointed Knight Grand Cross, Order of the Bath (G.C.B.) in 1909.1 He held the office of Aide-de-Camp General to HM King George V between 1911 and 1912.1 He was appointed Knight Grand Commander, Order of the Star of India (G.C.S.I.) in 1916.1 He held the office of Member, Council of India between 1917 and 1924.1
