     He held the office of High Sheriff in 1903.1 He lived at Straffan House, Straffan, County Kildare, IrelandG.1

     Captain Frederick Bertram Barton was born on 19 June 1900 at Paddington, London, England.1,2 He was the son of Bertram Hugh Barton and Lilian Edith Laura Carden.1 He married Joan Aileen Lecky, daughter of Maj.-Gen. Robert St. Clair Lecky, on 16 February 1927.1 He died on 20 November 1993 at age 93.2
     Captain Frederick Bertram Barton also went by the nick-name of Derick.1 He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He held the rank of Lieutenant between 1920 and 1927 in the service of the 17th/21st Lancers.1 He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He fought in the Second World War, after which he retired as an honorary Captain.1 He lived at Straffan House, Straffan, County Kildare, IrelandG, which he sold.1 He lived at The Glebe, Straffan, County Kildare, IrelandG.1 He held the office of President, Royal Dublin Society between 1966 and 1968.1 As of 1976, Captain Frederick Bertram Barton lived at 18 Waltham Terrace, Blackrock, County Dublin, IrelandG.1
